DALLAS FIRMA A VICTOR LIZ CONTRATO NO GARANTIZADO....

Dallas aparentemente intrigado Villanueva, quien también habría tenido una oferta con los Clippers, un equipo con un punto de la lista abierta. 

Pero cuando llega al campo de entrenamiento de los Mavericks, que encontrará un campo aún más concurrida de jugadores tratando de romper en el roster.

Para aclarar, un equipo debe fichar a un jugador con un contrato de la NBA para traerlo al campo de entrenamiento. Así, Liz tiene un contrato de la NBA. Es sólo probable plenamente garantizado o tal vez apenas garantizado. De esa manera Dallas le puede renunciar antes de la temporada regular con ningún o sanción mínima. 

Liz sólo jugó en la Copa Mundial de la República Dominicana, un equipo dominado por Francisco García, que debería decir algo sobre el calibre de la escuadra. Los dominicanos se fueron 2-4 en el torneo, y Liz ocupó el cuarto lugar en el equipo con 6.5 puntos por partido. 

Pero él hizo 11-de-23 de 3 puntos (49 por ciento), y le disparó a 39 por ciento en Venezuela el año pasado y 37 por ciento en Puerto Rico el año anterior. Tal vez esa única dimensión le llega a la NBA. 

Todos dijeron, será difícil para Liz para suplantar un Maverick con un contrato garantizado, por no hablar de los otros jugadores - Villanueva, Ivan Johnson y Eric Griffin - también tratando de hacer el equipo sin un acuerdo garantizado. La mayoría de los equipos favorecerán a los jugadores que ya tienen que pagar, aunque quizás Dallas come el sueldo de Ricky Ledo o Gal Mekal. 

Yo no contaría con eso.

Dallas apparently intrigued Villanueva, who also reportedly had an offer with the Clippers, a team with an open roster spot.

But when he arrives at Mavericks training camp, he’ll find an even more crowded field of players trying to break onto the roster.

To clarify, a team must sign a player to an NBA contract to bring him to training camp. So, Liz has an NBA contract. It’s just likely fully unguaranteed or maybe barely guaranteed. That way Dallas can waive him before the regular season with no or minimal penalty.

Liz just played in the World Cup for the Dominican Republic, a team dominated by Francisco Garcia, which should say something about the squad’s caliber. The Dominicans went 2-4 in the tournament, and Liz ranked fourth on the team with 6.5 points per game.

I just wouldn’t count on that.
